We were at a local elementary school (Cancun) when we noted students’ interest in a particular ‘tamarind’ tree – looked up and there they were! Very well camouflaged with the pods.

How do the students feel about bats? Had they seen them there before? Were there more in the tree or just one clump?
The students were the ones who alerted us to them. Apparently they like them a lot, and had seen them before.
Actually, earlier that morning I had heard kids talking about “murcielagos” but didn’t imagine that they were actually SEEING them.
That was the only clump of bats I saw in the tree.
